Sustainability
What we use today, we replace for tomorrow.
The United Nations defines sustainability as “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
The Foresta team believes this makes ethical and economic sense and presents boundless opportunities for forward thinkers.
By only sourcing pine trees from certified plantations, we are securing supply for future generations and removing CO2 from the atmosphere the way nature intended.
Our Five Pillars of Sustainability
Sourced from Forests
Circular Manufacturing
No Waste
We use parts of the tree, such as stumps and slash which would normally be considered a waste product/low value wood. Stump harvesting increases the productivity of the land as it facilitates afforestations.
No petrochemical
Natural Manufacturing
Carbon Footprint
NZ Sustainable Forests
According to the New Zealand Forest Service, the country’s planted production forests cover approximately 1.8 million hectares with an average age of 18.7 years.
When fully operational, each Foresta manufacturing site will maximising the value of New Zealand’s exotic pine forest plantations. Better harvesting practices can improve forest yields and maximise the value of biomass fuels and chemicals end products.
We aim to locate future manufacturing sites adjacent to key forest-dense areas that will reduce transportation costs and environmental impact.
