Foresta’s policy is to harvest sustainably managed exotic pine forest farms as its primary feedstock source. Central to our sustainability commitment is the practice of replanting an equivalent area for every hectare harvested, ensuring carbon sequestration over 30 years.

New Zealand currently exports 20 million tonnes of logs annually, alongside approximately 6 million tonnes of stumps left in forests. By processing these resources domestically, Foresta aims to maximise economic value and reduce the environmental footprint involved in export. Securing a consistent supply and controlling harvesting practices are crucial steps towards a coal-free and sustainably managed energy sector.
